Winter 2023

“Crack the Kiln” is a board game developed in collaboration with Anji National Archaeological Park, where it won the Creative Award in the China National Creative Design Competition and is now available for purchase at the park. Inspired by porcelain exhibits in the museum, this game is designed to help players explore traditional Chinese porcelain patterns and gain insight into the intricate production process of porcelain in an engaging, educational format.

Detail

In the game, players will encounter cards featuring famous porcelain patterns. If a player answers correctly, they can use a handle to strike the center card and earn a piece of simulated porcelain. These porcelain pieces can be stacked, and the first player to complete their porcelain construction wins.

This engaging process not only teaches players about traditional porcelain patterns but also introduces them to the art of porcelain production.
